About ACFO continued...

We aim to allow anyone involved in helping to manage a fleet or other forms of business travel to see just how diverse and innovative "fleet management" can be - and to help them identify how to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.

In addition to general fleet techniques, we offer members support in 2 vital areas: "Managing on-road risk" and employers' Duty of Care for employees driving at work. Many of our members have introduced excellent policies and now offer to share their expertise with others Improving the fuel and environmental performance of business travel - not only because fuel is such a major cost, but also because CO2 (closely linked to fuel consumption) is no the main taxation factor for vehicles and for drivers

We operate at 2 main levels - regional and national. Across our nine regions there are regular meetings where members and guests can network and learn about the many different techniques used in various circumstances. There are also opportunities for presentations and site visits.

Nationally the Directors and others meet regularly with government agencies and departments - up to and including Ministerial level. We have a good working relationship with key areas of policy in HM Treasury and HMRC. We meet regularly with DVLA and DfT. We are consulted on areas of policy and legislative change, so we have the opportunity to put forward the views of practicing fleet managers, to ensure that proposals take full account of all the different priorities that fleets face.
