Van Best Practice scheme launched

A new scheme aimed at improving van fleet operations has been launched by DfT.  The "Van Best Practice" scheme was launched at SMMT in London, at a meeting attended by Julie Jenner & Stewart Whyte, as well as several ACFO members who have committed to participation in the scheme.

 

The initial offerings are guides and checklists, designed for all businesses running vans, but with particular relevance to SME and smaller fleets: exactly like the ACFO philosophy, a great deal of large-fleet expertise has been gathered and collected into formats to make things as easy as possible for the non-professional operators.

 

There is a full-scale expansion programme to bring more advice and guidance to van fleet operators and ACFO will be supporting this initiative in a number of ways.  Among other opportunities, we will work to arrange a presentation by the scheme operators to all ACFO regions during the 2010 meetings calendar.
